COLDRAIN KILL THE SILENCE WITH THUNDEROUS NEW SINGLE: "Paradise (Kill the Silence)"

After the weeks of the new single "Paradise (Kill the Silence)" being announced and heavily anticipated by fans of the Japanese quintet, the post-hardcore outfit Coldrain unleased the song at midnight Japanese Standard Time on 17th September. Though some lucky fans watched the band debut the song as a live performance on the second edition of Coldrain TV the day before the release of "Paradise (Kill the Silence)" that was free to international fans on the band's official YouTube channel but was behind a paywall on Line Live for Japanese audiences.

An hour or so before the debut live performance of the song, the ensemble teased the music video on their social media accounts to be released alongside the single. A 30-second teaser clip was shared to build up even more hype towards the song.

It was a thunderous debut of "Paradise (Kill the Silence)" with the music video reminiscent of "Final Destination" from their debut studio outing of the same name. The band performing centre stage with shots of them performing on an LED platform with visuals from the band performing on the US Vans Warped Tour in 2016, and lyrics of the song appearing on the LED platform throughout as the band jams out to the killer hard rock anthem "Paradise (Kill the Silence.)" Choppy and fast-paced camera shots surrounding them with colourful flashing lights as the song builds up to the final chorus where they go to a metaphorical paradise with the catchy sing-along chorus that packs loads of adrenaline which makes for an instant fan-favourite.

Unfortunately, the upload was accidentally uploaded in the MONO audio format (though it still sounds amazing) so the band said they would fix the issue and make sure the video would be updated to the STEREO audio format that the band directly addressed as an issue with a statement pinned to the comments section on the official music video for "Paradise (Kill the Silence)" that was fixed two days later.

The release also came as a surprise for fans of the Nagoya heavyweights as they released the single as an extended play, marking this as their first extended play since 2014's Japanese exclusive Until the End with 5 of the songs marketed and included on the 2014 international reissue of The Revelation with the exception of "House of Cards" that was also exclusively released on the Australian deluxe of The Revelation that wasn't released elsewhere. The extended play of "Paradise (Kill the Silence)" wasn't released with additional songs but rather five additional versions of the same song which one instrument missing marked as "For singers/lead guitarists|rhythm guitarists/bassists and drummers for fans who want to add their own interpretation on the song.

Frontman Masato Hayakawa even joked on Twitter that he needed to use the singers' version to practise. It's great to see that the band can even play along and joke about their own releases.

Stream "Paradise (Kill the Silence) now.
